Over 500 young men and women have graduated from LBI since 1984, and are ministering in various locations in the Bandundu Region. $50 a month will help pastors in the Bush feed and educate their children. $150 a month will help pastors living in larger cities where expenses are higher and gardens are not easily grown. Laban Bible Institute was the dream of Dr. Laban Herbert Smith in 1947. He knew that the Word of God changes lives, homes, villages, cities and nations. Today Laban Ministries has three schools that are located in the Heart of Africa. These schools are training Nationals in the Pastoral or Evangelistic fields. Laban Bible Institute accepts high school graduates or up to 3rd year of secondary school. Classes are taught in the French and Kituba languages. The average student at LBI speaks 5 languages. Students have walked as far as 240 miles one way 6 times a year to attend the Laban Bible Institute. It takes about a week each time. Many students walk at least 50 miles one way 6 times a year. SCHOLARSHIPS Because the average family in Congo Africa earns only approximately $110 per year, scholarships are needed. For $50 a month a tuition scholarship can help a student receive good Biblical training.
