ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Shawn Lantz is the daughter of missionaries, Jim and Nancy Smith, founders and directors of Laban Ministries International. The work begun by Shawn's grandparents, Laban and Marcella Smith, is  currently celebrating its seventieth anniversary. Laban Ministries  is committed to training nationals to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their own people in the Bandundu Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly the Belgian Congo and Zaire).

Congo Vignettes is Shawn's first book. She is in the process of writing several women's  Bible studies. Her passion is to encourage women to develop a love for the Scriptures. Shawn teaches a weekly Bible study in her home and co-leads a couples' Sunday school  class with her husband, Rob, at their home church. Shawn and Rob have three children  and reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
